Alexandria to Cairo

We were finally given the keys to Melvin at 5pm outside our hotel, and decided to make a dash for Cairo despite the light already fading, and in doing so breaking our only rule – ‘Don’t drive at night!’. The route however was a 4 lane toll road, with less traffic than the M6, so we soon flew down to Cairo, arriving at Maryanne’s farm on the west side of Cairo at 10:30pm, after taking more than a few wrong turns!

It was so good to have Melvin back and get our adventure started!
