While, from Alexandria to Aswan, our progress through Egypt had been almost faultless, we encountered our first delay when we arrived at the Traffic Court on Friday morning in Aswan for a stamp which would confirm we had no traffic offences. The court was closed, as it was a weekend.
The court opened again on Saturday so we decided to head back to Adam’s House on the other side of the Nile where we re-re-packed the car, and in doing so discovered the absurd quantity of clothes we had bought. If only we had had time for a small test trip!
Despite the 45 degree heat we were very kindly treated to frequent cups of Nubian tea, a sweet tea served with fresh mint that was remarkably refreshing on a hot afternoon.
